Today was a pretty big day for Microsoft and Indians as the software giant announced their new CEO, Satya Nadella. It was great news to celebrate. Nadella,46, will succeed Steve Ballmer, who had announced his retirement last August, to become the third CEO of the company in its 39-year history. Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer welcomed Satya on Microsoft’s cam pus in Studio D at Microsoft and had hundreds of employees gathering the atrium to watch announcement. Gates, who was company’s first CEO, said in a statement announcing the appointment, “Satya is a proven leader with hard-core engineering skills, business vision and the ability to bring people together, His vision for how technology will be used and experienced around the world is exactly what Microsoft needs as the company enters its next chapter of expanded product innovation and growth” Here’s what Satya said : “I am honored, humbled and excited – three words that describe what I feel.
